While many developers code for fun, our day jobs usually require us to work on projects that help support our particular business. As applications are critical to every business, the pressure is constantly increasing to develop the right capabilities with the best user experiences and deliver all of it quickly. Many of the topics you’ll find at DevNet Create are around technology and practices that help you deliver these incredible experiences quickly, be they microservices, IoT, or DevOps. But what about making sure that you’re delivering the right things? That you’ve prioritized your projects correctly and are going to maximize the impact you have on business outcomes?

What actions are your customers taking, and are they succeeding? Where is application (or infrastructure) performance causing friction that in turn causes customer abandonment? Are you fixing the bugs that will have the most impact? Are you delivering new features that will improve a customer’s experience? Unless you as a developer and the folks responsible for the business are aligned, you’ll struggle to ensure your work is having the most impact.
